Macbooks have been updated - before you rush out and this 'teh bigger

number' look at the information regarding GMA 950; sure, the GMA x3100

has bigger numbers but look at this and ask yourself - the

enhancements, do I need them? its not just a matter of 'massive speed

improvements overall but actually significant improvements in certain

areas.

If you're Joe and Jane Doe, you sit there, surf the net, watch a few

films, write a few documents - you would be better off saving your

money, and possibly upgrading your memory on your existing Macbook. If

you're a iBook user, however, then go for it. You'll notice a HUGE

performance boost.

The first time I loaded up my Macbook (black model with 2 gigs of

memory) my jaw hit the floor - I was truly shocked at the performance

boost over my old iBook G4, iMac G5 and iBook G3 Indigo. It was huge.

Leopard apparently will take it a notch up from that. If the rumours

are true, its going to be a great few years.

For me, I'll wait till the Intel GMA x3500 to appear in the next crop

of Macbooks, it'll include a whole host of features that'll make an

upgrade really worth while - hopefully by then DDR3 will be out (or
